The Cavallotto family's winemaking journey began with the acquisition of vineyards in Barolo, a region famed for its Nebbiolo grapes. The estate's location in Castiglione Falletto is ideal for this variety, offering well-drained soils and a favourable microclimate that contribute to the depth and complexity of their wines. Central to Cavallotto’s success is the family-operated Bricco Boschis Cru vineyard. Nestled on a hill parallel to the esteemed Monprivato vineyard, Bricco Boschis is renowned for producing some of the finest Nebbiolo grapes in the region. The vineyard's south-facing slopes and well-drained soils yield grapes with intense colour and robust tannins, creating wines that are both powerful and refined.

The Terroir of Cavallotto's Barolo

Cavallotto’s vineyards are situated in three key crus: Bricco Boschis, Vignolo, and Collaretto. Each site offers unique terroir that influences the character of the wines.

• Bricco Boschis: The flagship vineyard, Bricco Boschis, is renowned for its mature vines, some over 60 years old. The vineyard's optimal exposure and soil conditions produce Barolos with exceptional ageing potential, deep fruit flavours, and a distinctive, elegant profile.
